Chelsea Dixon – 60 Kilo Weight Loss

Mum of four Chelsea from Gympie in Queensland has been following the Healthy Mummy 28 Day Weight Loss Challenges  for 15 months and has lost a whopping 60 Kilos! 

Chelsea shares, “This is my 15th challenge with the Healthy Mummy and I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

“The health benefits for me are no thyroid issues.  I can breathe better and I have more energy to play with my children. I’m the healthiest & fittest I’ve ever been in my life, physically I’m so much more confident within my own skin & mentally I’m just adjusting to my changes I’m a go with the flow person and always make a positive out of a negative.”

“My goals for this month is to just focus on maintaining and working on building the strength and tone of my body. And to stay happy healthy & work on a better version of me.”

Chelsea’s 3 tips are

  1. Keep it simple search for foods you love & transition yourself into a lifestyle this is forever so make it work for you…
  2. Water make sure you hydrate, if you don’t like water you can use infused waters ect just to get it down…
  3. Exercise take it a day at a time enjoy it work your fitness up make it fun & enjoy yourself because this is for life so you have to make it work with everyday…

“When I feel like throwing it all in sitting on the couch eating chocolate & just binging with what ever I see, it reminds me of how I used to be then I remember why I want this so much I love the new improved version of myself, so it’s ok to have those days just remember to restart & get back on track.”

Sonia Bailey – 23 Kilo Weight Loss

Mum of two Sonia is right in the middle of her weight loss journey having already lost 23 kilo’s, she has 25 kilos to go.  She’s been a member of the Healthy Mummy for three years.

She says, “I’ve learned a lot about health, both mental and physical, in my 3 years of membership. I don’t lose weight quickly!”

I’ve seen way too many benefits to list them all, but being able to go off antidepressants, teaching my kids and husband to cook healthy meals, progressive weight loss and strength gain all come to mind.”

In my last pregnancy, I gained a total of 7kg and was back to pre-pregnancy weight after a week AND I had a c-section.

Why am I doing the 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge? Um . . . D’uh! It’s easy, no hard to source ingredients (what even IS grass-fed caviar, Pete???), the meal plans are customisable and the only part I DON’T like is washing the dishes after meal prep. If I follow my meal plan to the letter, and do nothing else, I still lose weight. AND it’s nutritionist-approved.”

“I use the Healthy Mummy Smoothies for breakfast, either as a smoothie or add 1/3 cup chia seeds and 1/2 cup of rolled oats and chill overnight (microwave in the morning to serve warm). I also sometimes add Smoothie mix to biscuits, dinners and stews.

“My favourite meals vary, but Mexican Lasagne and Easy Loaded Chicken Bake (swap the kale for baby spinach) are family favourites.”.

Sonia’s Goals

“My goal for this month is just to be a realistic example to the other mums. We all have down days – pretending we don’t is just lying. But it’s how we bounce back that is important. I have physical limitations, but no way will I let them make me a couch potato!”

“My goal weight is 69.9kg, but I have other NSVs (non-scale victories) and if I achieve those but weigh 72kg or 65kg, I’m happy with that too.”

Sonia’s Three Tips

  • When you think you’re failing, read this  I go back and read that post again and again, particularly when my habits are getting off track and I need to “simplify” my journey.
  • Talk to other Platinum mums on the support page. We’re all on the same journey, we’re just taking our steps in a different order.
  • Have a weight-loss buddy you can vent to. No judgment.

Going Platinum did two things – took the pressure off to lose weight by the end of my membership (because now I actually can) and also kicked me into gear . . . If I’m in it for life, I should probably be following the meal plan properly! Lol!”

Bec Ashforth – 55 Kilo Weight Loss

Mum of 5 Bec Ashforth from Perth has lost over 55 kilos and had two completely Healthy Mummy pregnancies.

“Consistency is the key to long term success and maintenance. After baby number 3, six years ago, my starting weight was 113 kgs and I got down to 55 kgs. I then went to have bub number 4 and I was back to pre-pregnancy weight by 6 weeks post bub 55kgs,  and the same again with bub number 5.
