Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has slammed BCCI president Sourav Ganguly against showing undue power after his statement regarding Asia Cup 2020’s cancellation.
Ganguly had said that the Asia Cup has been called off due to the current novel COVID-19. “Asia Cup has been canceled,” claimed Ganguly.
Latif took to twitter and stated that the cancelation of the tournament depends on Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and showing undue power will hurt other Asian countries.
“Whether the Asia Cup is canceled or not can be decided by the Asian Cricket Council. Showing undue power will only hurt Asian countries, Ganguly should pay attention to Indian cricket and IPL.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani has said nothing is confirmed until ACC releases official decision.
“We are still waiting for the ACC to come back to us,” said Mani while speaking to SportsStar from England.
“They are making inquiries about certain (things). Maybe, Sourav knows something that I don’t know. That’s possible. But we have not heard anything from the ACC, so I can’t comment on that,” the PCB chief added.
It must be noted here that Pakistan was to host the Asian event this September. The tournament was likely to take place at a neutral venue after India refused to travel neighbors due to political tensions among both countries.
