Manly’s Jorge Taufua has been sent to the sin-bin for a professional foul on Matt Dufty.
Taufua took out Dufty off the ball who attempted a kick and chase just 15 metres out from the try-line.
The Dragons took the easy penalty goal and extended their lead to 12-4 as Taufua headed off the field.
Taufua’s decision to take out Dufty will no doubt be a tough replay for Manly coach Des Hasler to watch after the match.
Manly fullback Brendan Elliot was in the perfect position to clean up Dufty’s grubber, leaving the commentary team baffled as to why Taufua committed the professional foul.
“Taufua didn’t need to do that. He’s done the ill-disciplined thing,” Brenton Speed said on Fox League’s commentary.
“Taufua only had one thought and he wiped out Dufty.
“He should’ve left it to Elliot.”
