Independent adjudicator reserves decision on Umar Akmal’s appeal against ban

Lahore: Ex- Supreme Court judge Mr. Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar, in his capacity as an independent adjudicator has reserved his decision on Umar Akmal’s appeal after listening to the arguments of both sides today.

Umar’s lawyer Mr. Tayyab Rizvi is confident that they will get justice as they appealed against the three-year ban.

“We are confident and hopefully, we will get justice against the ban,” Mr. Rizvi said while talking to media after the hearing.

It must be noted that on April 27, the Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel, Mr. Justice (retd) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan, had banned Umar Akmal for three years after finding him guilty of breaching Article 2.4.4 of the PCB Anti-Corruption Code in two separate incidents.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to comment on the matter until the decision is made public.
