After 40 minutes it’s the Melbourne Storm leading the Sydney Roosters 14-0.
There are fresh injury concerns for the Roosters after halfback Lachlan Lam and veteran Mitch Aubusson went down in separate incidents.
Lam was forced to leave the field early in the first half with a syndesmosis injury to his right ankle.
“It’s not good news for Lachlan Lam, the Roosters are saying it’s unlikely he will be back tonight,” Danika Mason revealed on Nine’s broadcast.
“They’re saying it’s a syndesmosis injury to his ankle and that he will have to go for scans.”
Late in the first half, Aubusson found himself in an awkward position when Storm prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona landed on his left arm.
Replays were hard to watch as Sydney Roosters legend Brad Fittler and former NSW Origin coach Phil Gould struggled to see it through.
“Aubusson got caught underneath. He puts his hand down and big Nelson Asofa-Solomona put his 125kg on it.
Phil Gould added: “He doesn’t look good.”
Mason revealed during the half-time break that Aubusson’s night was over with concerns to both left wrist and forearm.
“His night is done, he’s injured his wrist and forearm,” she said.
“He will be sent for scans.”
